Shanti Stupa is one of the most iconic landmarks in Leh, perched atop a hill in Chanspa, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Leh town and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura, this white-domed stupa was constructed to promote world peace and commemorate 2,500 years of Buddhism.   • Winter (October to February): The stupa is still open, but it’s extremely cold with snow chances, recommended only for winter travellers prepared for harsh weather.
