By Air: The nearest airport to Ravangla is Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal, located approximately 135 km away. From the airport, Ravangla can be reached in about 4 hours by road, usually via Jorethang. Taxis and private cabs are easily available from Bagdogra.

By Train: The closest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), around 110 km from Ravangla. NJP is well-connected to major Indian cities, making train travel a convenient and budget-friendly option. From the railway station, travellers can hire a taxi or board a bus to Ravangla.

By Road: Ravangla enjoys good road connectivity with major towns across Sikkim and neighbouring regions. Regular taxis, shared vehicles, and buses operate from places like Gangtok, Namchi, Pelling, and Siliguri. Travelling by road is one of the most scenic ways to reach Ravangla, offering beautiful mountain and forest views along the journey.

Summer (April to June)

Summer is the most favourable time to visit Ravangla. Temperatures range between 15°C and 25°C, creating ideal conditions for sightseeing, nature walks, and outdoor activities. Occasional light showers add freshness to the surroundings, enhancing the overall charm of the town.


Monsoon (July to September)

Monsoon brings moderate to heavy rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 17°C. While the landscape turns lush and green, frequent rain and slippery roads can make travel and sightseeing challenging. This season is best avoided unless you enjoy quiet, rain-washed scenery.


Winter (October to March)

Winters in Ravangla are cold and can be quite harsh, especially between December and February. Temperatures often drop to 3°C–10°C, with chilly days and colder nights. Occasional snowfall adds beauty to the town, but travellers should be well-prepared with heavy woollens if visiting during this time.
